Understanding Your Deep Feeler

Understand the big emotions, strong reactions and behaviour beneath the surface

A practical parent support package for understanding and supporting children who feel deeply, react intensely and can struggle with everyday demands, boundaries and emotional regulation.

2 full workshops + practical resources + scripts | £47

If your child seems to experience everything at 100%, this package will help you understand what may be happening underneath their behaviour, and what you can do differently in response.

Does your child feel everything deeply?

Maybe their emotions seem bigger than other children's.

Maybe a small disappointment can become a huge reaction. A simple request can turn into resistance. A change of plan can feel impossible. And when they're overwhelmed, you may see shouting, arguing, crying, shutting down, running away or completely refusing to cooperate.

You may have tried being calm.

You've explained, validated, offered choices.

You've tried consequences.

You've tried giving them more time.

And yet, sometimes, nothing seems to work.

If this sounds familiar, your child may be what I call a Deep Feeler.

Deep Feelers aren't simply "naughty", "dramatic" or badly behaved. They can experience emotions, sensory input, expectations and everyday demands with a level of intensity that can make ordinary situations feel anything but ordinary.

And when their nervous system becomes overwhelmed, what you see on the outside can look very different from what is actually happening underneath.

Understanding what is happening underneath the behaviour changes how you respond.

That's exactly what this package is designed to help you do.

You'll move from: "Why is my child reacting like this?" to: "I understand what's happening underneath this."

And from: "How do I make them calm down?" to: "What does my child need from me right now?"

What you'll learn

Inside Understanding Your Deep Feeler, I'll help you make sense of the behaviour that can leave even the most thoughtful parent wondering what they're getting wrong.

You'll explore:

  • What it can mean for a child to be a Deep Feeler

  • Why some children experience emotions and everyday demands so intensely

  • What may be happening beneath strong reactions, resistance and emotional outbursts

  • Why your child's behaviour can escalate or suddenly turn into shutdown

  • Why some approaches that work beautifully for other children don't seem to work for yours

  • How emotional capacity affects your child's ability to listen, cooperate and respond

  • How to support your child without simply removing every boundary or expectation

  • How to respond to behaviour in a way that protects both connection and boundaries

  • How to help your child develop the skills they need without triggering more shame, overwhelm or escalation

  • How to recognise what your child may need from you in the moment

This isn't about finding the perfect parenting script.

It's about learning to see the child underneath the behaviour, so you can respond with greater understanding, confidence and purpose.

The Positive Parent Coach

Hi, I'm Olivia 👋

I'm a trauma-informed parenting coach, former Early Years teacher and mum of three, and I've spent nearly 20 years working with children and families.

I created the Deep Feeler framework after seeing just how often children with big emotions, strong personalities and heightened sensitivity were being misunderstood, and how often their parents were left wondering why the approaches that seemed to work for other families weren't working for them.

My background in psychology, education and supporting children with additional and complex needs has shaped the way I look at behaviour: not simply as something to stop, but as communication that tells us something important about a child's needs, skills and capacity.

I've supported hundreds of families to understand their children differently and find practical ways forward, and my work has been featured across national media including BBC Breakfast and BBC Look North, alongside parenting publications and professional collaborations.

I'm particularly passionate about supporting Deep Feelers and strong-willed, big-emotion children because I know how intense family life can feel when your child's emotions are BIG, and how much can change when you finally understand what's happening underneath them.

My approach is warm but boundaried, compassionate but practical. I don't believe in permissive parenting, suppressing emotions or expecting parents to stay perfectly calm every second of the day.

I believe in understanding your child deeply while still being their sturdy anchor, helping them feel safe, building their capacity and teaching the skills they need for life.

That's what you'll find throughout this package.

I'm so glad you're here.
