Helping parents stay grounded when emotions run high

Showing you how to increase co-operation, successfully navigate meltdowns and respond calmly when your child is refusing to listen.

THE POSITIVE PARENT COACH®

Does Parenting Feel Harder Than You Expected?

Do any of these sound familiar?

  • Your child goes from calm to explosive in seconds

  • You ask your child 10 times to do something and they still ignore you

  • Small moments turn into big emotional reactions

  • Power struggles and negotiations feel constant

  • Nothing seems to work in the moment — consequences, rewards, reasoning

  • You know what you want to do, but can’t access it when emotions run high

  • By the end of the day, you feel drained, overstimulated and questioning yourself

If this resonates, it’s not because you’re doing something wrong. It’s often a sign that big emotions, nervous system overwhelm, and unmet needs are driving behaviour, for both children and parents.

How Parenting Coaching Can Help

I support parents who feel stuck in cycles of reactivity, emotional overwhelm and self-doubt, even when they’re loving, thoughtful and trying their best.

Together, we work to:

  • Understand what’s really driving your child’s behaviour

  • Help you stay grounded and regulated in intense moments

  • Reduce meltdowns, shouting and guilt

  • Build cooperation, emotional safety and confidence at home

  • Stop the nagging, repetition and you having to do everything, and encourage your child to listen, take responsibility and develop their own skills for the future

Many families I support discover that traditional parenting advice hasn’t worked because their child’s personality and nervous system make-up mean they require a slightly different approach. Once you understand their nervous system personality you can implement the tools that work and see HUGE changes in your relationship.

My approach goes beyond surface-level behaviour management and focuses on emotional regulation, nervous system support and practical, in-the-moment strategies, without punishments or quick fixes that don’t last.

Why work with me?

Because when the usual parenting approaches haven’t worked, you need more than another parenting strategy. You need to understand what is happening underneath the behaviour.

I bring almost 20 years of experience working with children and families, alongside a first-class psychology degree, internationally recognised trauma-informed coaching qualification  and experience supporting children and families through the Educational Psychology Service, Early Years and family support.

But what makes my approach different is the way I bring this knowledge together.

I specialise in supporting families whose children feel things deeply, escalate quickly, struggle with transitions, resist everyday requests or seem to push back against almost everything.

These are often the families who have already tried the charts, rewards, consequences, scripts and parenting techniques.

And when those approaches haven't worked, it can be tempting to believe that you simply haven't found the right strategy yet.

Often, the missing piece is understanding why that particular child responds the way they do.

Parenting that works with your child's nervous system

My work is rooted in understanding the nervous system, emotional regulation, behaviour and the individual differences that shape how children experience the world.

Over years of working with families, I've developed a collection of specific frameworks and practical 'backdoor' strategies designed to work with the child rather than against them.

Because two children can display exactly the same behaviour for completely different reasons.

One child may need more predictability.
Another may need connection before cooperation is possible.
Another may become overwhelmed by the sensory or emotional demands of an everyday task.
Another may need a completely different route into flexibility, communication or independence.

When you understand the nervous system behind the behaviour, you can stop relying on one-size-fits-all parenting strategies and start matching your approach to the child in front of you.

And this is where parents often begin to see the biggest shift.

Not because their child has suddenly become a different child.

But because they finally have strategies that make sense for their child.

My aim isn't simply to give you more things to try.

It's to help you understand your child at a deeper level, understand your own responses, and develop a parenting approach that works with your child's individual nervous system, needs and capacity.

Less guesswork. Less conflict. More understanding. And practical strategies that actually fit your family.
