Stress Free Potty Training

If you’re worried because your child just doesn’t seem interested in Potty training it might be because they aren’t ready yet, because they simply aren’t motivated to use the potty or toilet or because they feel under pressure in some way or you might even be putting it off without realising it. Try and think about what you feel the reasons could be. You can always contact your GP if you believe there might be a medical reason for this, or seek out advice from your local Health Visitor. If they aren’t yet 3 years old it might be that they just aren’t ready yet. Give them lots of positive exposure, points of reference and role modelling from you, like I talk about in the workshop below. If they are older than 3 and still don’t seem interested, and you feel you have given lots of opportunities for modelling and positive exposure, it might be that they need help in getting motivated. Can you find a way to tap into their internal motivation to get them to want to start using the potty or toilet? (You can always reach out to me for further support of you feel you’ve tried these options and it isn’t working). Some children need a bespoke approach and thats ok, reach out to me so we can look at the options for helping you and your child.
