Workshop 1:Developing Communication & Language Skills
Delivered by Emma Lewry, Co-owner of Every day’s a school day, Head Teacher and Early Years Specialist
Discover how children develop speech, listening, and language skills and how you can support this naturally through play, daily routines, and responsive conversation. You’ll learn simple strategies to expand vocabulary, strengthen understanding, and build confidence in expressing thoughts and feelings.
Emma also shares information on Phonics so parents understand what it is and what their child will be learning.
Workshops include:
Developing Communication & Language Skills — practical ways to boost speech, listening, and expression.
Understanding Phonics (in workshop 1) — how early literacy develops and simple ways to support reading confidence.
Building Maths Confidence — fun, everyday approaches to make numbers meaningful and reduce anxiety around maths.
Workshop 2:Building Maths Confidence

Many children (and parents!) experience maths anxiety, but it doesn’t have to be that way. This workshop helps you understand how children develop early mathematical thinking and shows you how to use everyday moments — from cooking to shopping — to make numbers meaningful. You’ll learn how to boost confidence, reduce frustration, and help your child see maths as something they can do.
